I have worked hard all of my life doing manual labor? The thing I love best is a new piece of oak or better, staining it to see all of the grains, and then to cut and assemble it to something that lasts a lifetime. That is beauty. I helped build houses, paint , roof, then becoming an electricain, was my calling I thought. I loved to build and just work till you dropped and lok back at it with pride. I loved my work. Worked by myself for years and never had any time off, never had to advertise, y work was all word of mouth. Well you know my mother always told me that it would catch up to me 1 day, I never believed her. She is gone now but I can hear her say I told you so just don't want to listen, Listen............ now my father always taught me that if you give a man a dollars worth of work and added just a little more to it, you would always have a job. He also taught me that you only have 1 thing in your lifetime that is worth anything, if you want it to, is your word. He always said that your word is a great thing to have, and do not abuse it. If you was honest and never lied or cheated that your word was worth a million dollars, and everyone wanted to go with you because they knew what they was going to get. If your word is broken and misused you have nothing, because no 1 will ever believe in you. I have never forgotten that all my life and I live by it still. I am a woman that worked harder than most men and it caught up to me. I have been disabled since I was 47 and I have to keep having operations just to stay out of the dreaded wheelchair. But hey I am ok, I have my Lord standing over my shoulder to guide me along this long and winding path. |
